I have been eating here for many years. The price keeps going up, the food portions are getting smaller. The food is very bland. My last 2 trips there in the last month, I had tio ask the waitress if they still serve bread because it was never offered. Whether you have lots of leftovers or not, you are only permitted one very small container so if your food does not fit into the container, you cant take it home. I recently asked if my 4 year old could get a baked potato instead of french fries or mashed potatoes because they are healthier and she likes them much better. I was told I could if I paid the price of a baked potato as a side. Over the last 15 years it has gone down hill. If you are losing your taste buds and want to spend around 36.00 - 40.00 for 2 adults and 1 small child then this is the place for you. I prefer the outback steakhouse for my family, the food is much better and we all 3 eat for around 25.00

Two Thumbs Up
You can get a Dinner & All you can eat Salad Bar for only .25, very resonable and filling. My wife and I go every weekend. Also, check out the bakery, the homemade bread is amazing, as well as the pie. I always order bakery items for all our family holidays around Thanksgiving, Christmas, & Easter. I have never been disappointed! Thank you Das Dutch Haus Restaurant!!

Das Dutch Haus – A touch of country
It’s an early fall (mid-September) Friday evening with nothing much going on this weekend. The weather has been cooperating the last few days with no rain and highs in the upper seventies. Some call it good sleeping weather; we also call it good try-a-new-place weather.
Das Dutch Haus close’s earlier than most, 9:00PM, and we’re running late so it’s time to get a move-on. We make our way to Columbiana and easily find the restaurant on South Avenue. It's 8:00 PM by the time we arrive, but are promptly seated, leaving us time to spare. The restaurant is a lot larger than we had imagined; the waitress claimed that it can seat up to 350 people, and we believe her.
You enter the facility through a large gift shop and bakery, then into the dining area. Seating is mostly family-style; it’s well lit, and plenty of room between tables. I should mention; the facility is really well maintained and clean. I don’t think there were any potholes in the parking lot and the dining area looked close to brand-new, but the waitress said that part of the addition had been there for several years. The walls are decorated with hanging and wood carving with various laser engraved passages. It has an early American look with a definite mid-Western feel.
The dinner menu is printed on the placemats, but I ordered a Cabbage Roll dinner from the Friday night list of specials; she ordered the Broiled Chicken dinner from the menu. They were both good, but as others have commented, kind of bland. My Cabbage Roll dinner came with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, which were all good, but ….bland. Her chicken dinner had stuffing and green beans with a cheese sauce. Both dinners were OK, but not terribly exciting. If you’re a meat-and-potato’s person, this is the place for you. Apparently, it’s also the place for lots of other people; earlier there was a line extending out to the parking lot (I guess it pays to arrive a little late sometimes).
On the lighter side, each dinner includes a trip to the soup and salad bar, which was pretty good. It didn’t have hundreds of items, but it had what I wanted. The lettuce was shredded instead of course-cut, which made it altogether easier to make and eat. We both really liked it.
One more note about the Dutch Haus experience; the staff was great. Waitress’s were quick, everyone was polite and well outfitted; it reminded us both of a trip we recently enjoyed in Indiana.
We always make a point to eat here when we are in town. We love the family feel of it and the food is really good. Our favorite is the salad bar. We also like visiting the little shops around it. 5 star for sure!

Most of the food has a steam table taste/look, and their policy about taking leftovers home needs to be reevaluated. The last time I attempted to bring the rest of my dinner home with me for lunch the next day the waitress nearly filed a restraining order against me.

I first visited Das Dutch Haus Restaurant when I visited Ohio on my honeymoon-since then my husband and I have moved here to be close to family.
We have enjoyed the restaurant over the years, occasionally in groups.
We have recently begun enjoying the drive to Columbiana more frequently, any “excuse” will suffice, our birthdays are 1 week apart (2 reasons), out & about errands need lunch! This month is a record... 5 times WOW!
Chicken and salad bar for my husband, while I am trying to make my way around the menu- everything so far is delicious. COUNTING CALORIES- OUT THE WINDOW!
Everyone is polite and helpful and the facility clean.

Make around 4 visits a year from Pittsburgh to Columbiana just to eat at the Das Haus, visit the Das Village and go to the Whitehouse farm. Enjoyable day for a 1 hour ride. The breakfast bar is unbeatable.
I STARTED GOING THERE WHEN IT OPENED WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS (BIRTHDAY, ANNV.)AND THEN ALL THE TIME. I NOW LIVE OUT OF STATE AND CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK HOME FOR A VISIT SO I CAN EAT THERE.

The chicken was not done, the food was bland, and the rolls were gross!

Bring your spices
They pack the people in so someone likes it but really the food is bland to me. The salad bar is the exception. Last time the food was bland but the soap was better.
